Why EPIC4?
We all saw the profession of Orthodontics changing and watched many of our Schulman friends sell to various organizations. I was being approached to join a group and could't find the "perfect fit" for myself, my family and my team. When I heard that a group of Schulman doctors were in talks to form their own organization, I knew that was my path. We were already old friends so working together to shape EPIC4 felt very natural. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of something so exciting. EPIC4 will undoubtedly improve our personal and practice lives as well as the lives of many partners that join EPIC4 in the future. We are so proud of the Specialty Partnership Organization that EPIC4 has become.
Fun Fact
I love art and anything creative. Kimberly and I have attended Burning Man in the Nevada desert several times. I carry this fun and free spirit into the office and occasionally you will catch me in the office wearing a tutu and a top hat. Kids love to see Dr. Darren in a tutu on "tutu Tuesday" and we even get patients to play along sometimes:) I love the outdoors and try to go skiing or snowboarding whenever I can. Luckily, I passed this passion to both my kids so we often get to enjoy the snow together.
Darren Haltom Bio
Dr. Darren Haltom was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and completed his undergraduate studies at The University of New Mexico. He attended The University of the Pacific in San Francisco for Dental school and then returned to New Mexico and worked as a general dentist for The Pueblo of Isleta. After 3 years serving The Pueblo of Isleta, he and his wife Kimberly moved to St. Louis for Orthodontic residency. Upon graduation in 2004, Dr. Darren returned to New Mexico and joined his father's practice in Albuquerque. Haltom Orthodontics has been serving New Mexico families for 52 years. Dr. Darren Is board certified and is the past president of The Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists. He is an active member and treasurer of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists and was previously a clinical instructor in the orthodontic department at Baylor University. Dr. Darren and his wife, Kimberly, have two "grown" kids. Tanner is 26 and Kailee is 22. Kimberly and Darren love to hike in the Albuquerque foothills with their Sheepadoodle, "Murphy".
